Veronika Mayerboeck
Veronika Mayerböck (MSc) is a lighting designer and architect based in Vienna, Austria. Back in 2013 she found her own lighting design and engineering consultancy office “ALLES oder Licht” realizing international projects across the architectural and cultural lighting domain, including theatre and dance lighting, museums, and galleries as well as art installations.
She has been nominated for German Lighting Design Award 2020 and awarded a Darc Award in 2019, for her interdisciplinary research at the intersection between lighting and Human Computer Interaction she won the Viennese Content Award and was exhibited at Design Museum London.
As a studied Architect and Dancer, the symbiosis between space and movement determined her professional focus on light and human perception already at an early stage. Since 2022 focus on lighting in the context of Cognitive Science, Neuroscience and Architecture. Body, perception, and movement play a fundamental role in her work and teaching of lighting, scenography, and spatial awareness, as well as application-based research projects within the field of empirical aesthetics and colour science or lighting ergonomics. Apart from being an Ambassador for Women in Lighting she is member of ANFA, ACE, LiTG, and is active in lighting research bridging lighting and cognitive sciences.
Since 2020 she is visiting lecturer at KTH Stockholm and has been teaching up to date at several universities across Europe as University of Design Wismar, Universities of applied Science Hamburg, Detmold and Hildesheim, Technical University Graz, New Design University St. Pölten and CAPLA Arizona.
