Adrian Moncada

As an editor, researcher, and cultural strategist, Adrian Moncada works at the crossroads of theory, practice, and education. His work combines academic research with socially impactful initiatives, using critical methods to adopt a broader approach to design. He leads Difuso, a multidisciplinary studio focused on lighting design and alternative education. Through his involvement with CIDI–UNAM and the CONOCER Network (National Council for Standardization and Certification of Labor Competences), his studio actively develops designers, researchers, and creative professionals, emphasizing pedagogy and professional growth.

Andrew has worked on projects across all sectors and within each sector his focus has been on improving the design process and techniques.  His work has demonstrated improvements in the lit environments for people and wildlife whilst also significantly reducing in use energy and material waste.  More recently Andrew has been working on large scale dark sky projects both in the UK and Saudi Arabia.
