Mohamed Medani
Mohamed Medani is a Partner and Design Director at Delta Lighting Design, an international lighting design consultancy with studios in London, Dubai, Barcelona and Milan. Based in London, he leads design delivery and business development across a portfolio spanning the Gulf and Europe, working alongside some of the world's leading architecture practices.
Over his career, Mohamed has shaped the nighttime experience of landmark cultural, hospitality and civic projects. His credits include Desert Rock Resort in Saudi Arabia, the House of Wisdom in Sharjah, Alif at the Expo 2020 Mobility Pavilion, and the Zannier Bãi San Hô resort in Vietnam. His approach is rooted in narrative and restraint, treating light as a way to reveal architecture and landscape rather than dominate them.
His work has earned significant international recognition. Desert Rock Resort was named Light Middle East Project of the Year in 2026 and honoured at the [d]arc awards in London, where it also received an IALD Award of Merit. Mohamed is an active voice in the profession, presenting at industry platforms including the [d]arc Sessions in Sicily, where he shared the design story behind Desert Rock.
Beyond individual projects, Mohamed is engaged in the strategic side of design practice, from fee proposals and contract review to quality frameworks and risk management on complex international schemes. He is known for combining creative ambition with commercial pragmatism, and for building lasting collaborative relationships with clients and design teams alike.
