Dean Skira

Dean Skira is the founder and CVO of Skira Architectural Lighting, an award-winning architectural lighting practice based in Pula, Croatia, with projects worldwide.

For over 30 years, Dean has been building and creating mainly with intangible forms. In 1986 he relocated to the United States to study interior and lighting design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. In 1990 he established his first business in the US before returning to Croatia in 1995.

He received international awards as a lighting designer, a product designer for his notable projects and product designs. Dean Skira is an expert in architectural lighting with over 30 years of experience in urban, infrastructure, hospitality, commercial, and landscape projects and lighting installations. He is a member of the IALD, IES and HDR Croatian Lighting Society and a CLD Certified Lighting Designer, published author and a frequent lecturer around the globe.
