Iliana Zotou

 Originally from Greece, she began her career in Europe, working in London for several years before relocating to Dubai, where she now leads a large design team at Nulty+. Her approach is rooted in empathy, storytelling, and the psychological impact of light, drawing from a strong background in both interior architecture and human-centric design.

Her experience spans a diverse range of projects across London, Budapest, Prague, Croatia, Egypt, and Greece, and has expanded across the Middle East, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Saudi Arabia. Iliana uses light as a tool to redefine space and craft beautifully realised schemes. For her, lighting design transcends functionality, it’s about exploring the relationship between light and architecture to transform spaces into meaningful experiences. Notable recent projects include OUNASS at the Mandarin Oriental in Dubai and The Chedi Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site.

She holds a BA in Interior Architecture and an MSc in Light and Lighting from UCL. A passionate Dark Sky advocate, she recently published an article in Athens Voice raising awareness about light pollution in Greece. In 2025, she also served as a product and project judge at Light Middle East, supporting innovation and excellence within the lighting community.
