Marco Miglioli

He studied Architecture at the “Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio” under Peter Zumthor and Mario Botta. Initially trained in theatre lighting and scenography, he has sought to combine an artistic and scenographic approach with the technical aspects of lighting design.
Alongside his independent lighting practice, he collaborated for 12 years with “Ferrara Palladino Lightscape”, contributing to a wide range of architectural and cultural projects.

He founded “Marco Miglioli ArchiLight Studio”, where he develops architectural, museum and cultural lighting projects, as well as research into new approaches to lighting. His research focuses on sustainable forms of lighting, including phosphorescence and bioluminescence, as well as the impact of light on human perception, with particular attention to visual ageing and the conservation of artworks and cultural heritage from light-induced damage.

Marco has served on lighting design juries, including the “IES Awards”. He is an advisory member of the “IES Museum & Art Gallery Lighting Committee” and member of IES, DarkSky International, APIL, AIDI and ICOM. He is also part of the Milan Order of Architects and participates in Division 3 of the CIE National Committee.
