A lighting journey across continents.
Embarking on a captivating journey through continents, being born amidst the vibrant landscapes of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where the interplay of nature and natural light ignited a lifelong passion within me. The warm embrace of sunlight gracing the city's architecture left an indelible mark on my soul.
I started working in the lighting design industry back in 2008, when LEDs where just a thought in some designers head, to find myself in 2024 designing complex lighting schemes that are shaping the new architectural design, especially in the Middle East. With a recent increasing interest in sharing the knowledge acquired in 16 years of career, joined Marangoni’s faculty in 2019, teaching in a variety of courses, from graduate to Masters. Proudly part of the Italian branch of Women in Lighting, an international endeavour fostering visibility for women in the global arena of Lighting Design. Our endeavours have yielded remarkable workshops and projects featured in eminent publications, such as Arc Magazine and Luce. Since 2019 I’ve joined forces with Glare, immersing myself in projects that spanned diverse cultures and typologies. Here, the spectrum of design challenges broadened, introducing me to a realm beyond the high-end residential projects of Brazil. Our portfolio now embraces awe-inspiring commercial centres, expansive landscape masterplans, and my enduring passion, lighting for art. A crowning achievement was my involvement in the inaugural Islamic Arts Biennale, a testament to the power of light in storytelling. In 2021, I’ve won what is most important personal award in the industry: the 40Under40 Award, created by Light Collective UK, that recognizes each year the 40 lighting designers under 40 years old, with a relevant career in the Lighting Design industry. Since the beginning of 2023 I’m Glare’s Creative Director. This role allows me to embody the essence of the brand, infusing it into projects across the Middle East, USA, Europe, and, notably, Italy. In 2024, under my guidance, Glare won 2 of the most prestigious Lighting Desing Awards: Light Middle East Project of the Year in the category “Best Public Space Lighting” & dArc Awards in the category “Structures High Budget”, both with Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah, KSA.
