Fanny Englund
Fanny is an accredited Swedish Lighting Designer (since 2014), and in 2018 was named as one of the 40 UNDER 40 of Lighting Design, by Lighting Magazine. She holds lectures about different aspects of lighting on a regular basis and loves to share her knowledge!
Already as a child Fanny had an attraction to light, she thinks it was a sensibility to light that caused it. She hated strong flat light and loved to arrange a cozy light setting in my room, of course in a childish naïve way.
Growing up Fanny explored a lot of different types of art expressions, but it was then she realised there was a job called lighting design. She knew she had found her thing! The combination of spatiality, aesthetics and engineering made lighting a super intriguing area. And after studying lighting design for 3 years at Jönköping University Fanny discovered there are even more aspects to lighting which makes the subject even wider.
After her studies she started working as a professional lighting designer in 2010. She has been working at her current employer, Light Bureau, since 2015 where she has worked since 2015. Since 2022 she is also a group manager for a team of 11 lighting designers and technical specialists. In Fanny’s career so far, she has worked on a lot of different types of projects, everything from offices, high end residentials, masterplan for a whole city, different types of public spaces and light-art installations. She has a drive to develop and always widen her experience and knowledge.
