Lee Barker-Field
Lee started his career as an electrical/electronic technician and found his way into lighting after studying electronics and building services engineering at Leeds Metropolitan University, followed by lighting and sustainable electrical design at UMIST. He rounded off his academic studies at Bartlett UCL with an MSc in Light and Lighting. Lee worked in lighting manufacturing and design consultancy before co-founding AECOM’s lighting team in 2004.
Lee worked in lighting manufacturing and design consultancy before co-founding AECOM’s lighting team in 2004. Over the last 20 years at AECOM, he has led the lighting design on major projects all over the world, winning a range of awards along the way. Lee is particularly proud of projects like the 2020 World Expo site in Dubai, Al Janoub Stadium constructed for the 2022 Football World Cup, the 2016 Rio Olympic Park, and the O2 Arena in Dublin. He has worked across all building sectors and in many aspects of the design process, from sustainable policymaking and masterplanning to project design, execution, and associated research.
