Myriam Patricia Lopez Yanez

Myriam Patricia Lopez Yanez holds a graduate degree in Architecture, a Master's Degree in Architectural Lighting Design and has recently completed her business management studies, attaining Harvard Business School Alumnus status.

She has practiced architecture and lighting design in the Middle East and Europe for over 20 years. Her projects have been recognized with several awards and her articles have been published in magazines in Europe and Middle East. In the last years, her work was has been portrayed in Discovery WB and the BBC. Patricia started her career in Ecuador working as an Architect for the United Nations. She later worked as a Lighting Designer in Dubai, after as the Lighting Director at one of the largest real estate developers in the world, Emaar & Eagle Hills in Dubai, and lately as the Lighting Director at PIF’s Red Sea Global in KSA. Throughout her career she has worked on the development of Masterplanning, Hospitality, Commercial, Retail and Residential Projects. The Masterplans of Red Sea Global and Amaala in KSA; The Dubai Opera District, Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Hills in UAE; Hotels in KSA: Ritz Carlton Reserve, Six Senses and St Regis, La Prairie Wellness Hotel, Rosewood, SLS, Fairmont, Miraval, Rosewood, Faena, Jumeirah, Raffles; in Dubai: Bvlgari Resort, Four Seasons Hotel AD, The Adresses, Vida, Palace Hotels; other commercial projects such as The Dubai Mall, Dubai Hills Mall, Burj Khalifah, Calatrava tower. Working as the client, she directed the lighting conception and development of all Red Sea Global’s and Amaala’ projects, overseeing the work of over 20 international lighting design consultants. She created and led the lighting division of both companies to align the lighting design discipline with the company’s vision in terms of sustainability and environmental awareness through the Dark Sky Initiative and the creation of corporate Lighting Design Guidelines. She had a similar role at Emaar where she directed the lighting masterplanning, conception and development of local and international projects of the firm’s portfolio. Her expertise covers strategic lighting advise for clients, developers and architectural design firms; Direction of Lighting projects for Developments, including Urban Planning, Hospitality, Residential and Retail Projects; Creative Design of projects starting from concept phase to detail and tender phase, site supervision, handover process to operators and clients.
