Sacha Abizadeh
Sacha’s passion for lighting began with experimenting with it as an art form and medium. This passion was further shaped by early roles as an electrical draftsman and graphic technician, where he was first exposed to the world of lighting. The interplay of art, light, and structure has fueled his career, leading to collaborations with renowned architects such as Wilkinson Eyre, Grimshaw, and Weston Williamson.
He has contributed to large-scale, iconic infrastructure projects like the London Bridge Quarter and Paddington Quarter, which include landmarks such as The Shard, The Cube, and the award-winning lighting design for Paddington Station. His experience spans sectors including Transport, Commercial, Healthcare, Hospitality, and Museums, where he has been involved in all stages of design, from concept to implementation.
In 2011, Sacha joined WSP with the goal of establishing a leading architectural lighting service. Over the past decade, he has built a well-recognized practice, leading a team of specialists delivering innovative and sustainable lighting solutions. In addition to project work, he is passionate about mentoring younger engineers and leaders, helping them achieve personal growth, including attaining chartership and industry recognition like the “Young Lighter of the Year” award.
