Andrew Powell

Andrew has been a practicing lighting designer for over 35 years. After graduating from the University of Kansas with an Architectural Engineering degree (emphasis in Lighting and Electrical), he worked as a lighting designer for two firms in Atlanta, Georgia before joining Lighting Design Alliance (LDA) in 1995, where he has been ever since.

Working at LDA has afforded Andrew the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects both domestically and internationally, receiving numerous Lighting Design Awards along the way.

Andrew has been an active member of the IES, including a stint as President of the Los Angeles Section, as well as a long-time board member. He has been a guest lecturer / speaker at numerous Universities, the IES and various lighting trade shows, as well as been published in various design magazines.
